LAKE COUNTRY ROTARY TO BUILD A SAFE & FUN SPLASH PARK IN NIXON PARK IN HARTLAND, WI
The Lake Country Rotary and Lake Country Foundation are planning the construction of a Splash Pad in Nixon Park. The goal is to raise $300,000 in cash and in-kind donations to complete the construction of the splash pad. Both the Lake Country Foundation and the Lake Country Rotary have committed funds for the project.

Splash Pad will significantly enhance family recreational opportunities as a new and different fun-filled experience. We are so pleased that the Hartland Rotary Club has taken on this project. Rotary’s civic involvement is a cornerstone in our community of service.

The Splash Pad in Marathon Park has been well-received
by the community. Attendance there is equal to our outdoor
swimming pools on a monthly basis.
Parents bring their children to the facility knowing that the kids will enjoy themselves in a safe, refreshing atmosphere that is not dependent upon the child’s ability to swim.

manage total water usage, hours of operation, and create a fun and random pattern of water spray features for kids of all ages. The splash pad will be wheel chair accessible and a great addition to our community. Anticipated Grand Opening—Spring 2013.

A splash pad combines the sensations of water movements and interactive play elements in a safe “zero-depth” water play area. There is no need for lifeguards and virtually no drowning risk. The play area is constructed on a concrete slab with various water features that spray water in different patterns and directions, cooling off the visitors on those hot summer days.
After construction, the pad will be owned and operated by the Village of Hartland. The ongoing costs are low—just the water that is pumped through the features. The pad will be open during summer months and a computer control allows the village to
